Information for Investors

Impact Collective is uniquely placed within the social enterprise development landscape in Western Australia, working collaboratively with social entrepreneurs and change-makers who have business ideas to impact positively on WA communities. Impact Collective provides in-kind support and financial investment for social enterprise ideas, filling a critical seed-funding role in impact investment. This collaborative approach to social enterprise development with NFP organisations is innovative and relatively untested in Australia. It sits in stark contrast to the traditional angel and VC funding landscape.

Impact Collective is a brand that can potentially be used nationally, providing a consistent standard for NFP organisations working in social enterprise development across the country.

Example of Investment

Case study: Kardan

Kardan is an Aboriginal owned construction and maintenance services company committed to establishing sustainable and meaningful employment opportunities for those at risk. Kardan had grown rapidly since their early 2019 start to achieve 157% growth in revenue in their first year, and a further projected growth of 82% for FY2020-21, under the direction of two founding shareholders and highly entrepreneurial managers.

Investment details: Rise invested alongside Social Enterprise Finance Australia and Impact Investment Group in a multiple finance facility catered to Kardan’s different requirements. The financial return has been consistent at approx. 8-8.5%, and the impact metrics include the number of jobs generated for Aboriginal people and/or people experiencing vulnerability, and strategic connections/opportunities for NFP organisations within the Collective.
